Omid Shabani

While focusing on business litigation and intellectual property, Mr. Shabani has a breadth of experience, representing clients in matters ranging from real estate transactions to complex federal and state civil litigation and appeals. Based on his stellar representation of previous clients and vast experience and education in civil litigation, Mr. Shabani has obtained the reputation of a well-rounded litigation attorney who aggressively represents the interest of his clients in all aspects of any civil dispute or litigation and in all stages of civil litigation, from the inception of the case and through the appellate process.

Mr. Shabani’s breadth of knowledge and experience allows him to represent and advise his clients regarding a variety of civil matters.  With regards to intellectual property litigation, Mr. Shabani has represented clients involved in trademark infringement litigation, patent infringement litigation, and copyright infringement litigation, obtaining favorable results for his clients in every instance.  Additionally, Mr. Shabani has represented clients in obtaining trademark registration from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  With respect to business litigation, Mr. Shabani has represented clients in matters involving partnership disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud and misrepresentation, business torts, unfair competition, lien priorities disputes, real estate disputes, negligence, professional liability matters, and collections.  Mr. Shabani has also represented clients in construction defect litigation, mechanics’ lien litigation, and insurance matters. In addition, Mr. Shabani has represented both employers and employees in labor disputes, including wage and hour, FEHA, and discrimination lawsuits. Mr. Shabani has also represented and advised clients in transactional matters, including drafting and conducting due diligence regarding loan documents, entity formation, trademark registration, as well as settlement of disputes out of court.

While Mr. Shabani is a fierce and aggressive litigator, who has successfully represented clients in all stages of litigation, from drafting and filing lawsuits, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, to trials, and appeals, he is an ardent advocate of the philosophy that, when possible, a global settlement to the satisfaction of all parties is the preferred result for those involved in civil disputes.


Mr. Shabani obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double-major in Political Science and Legal Studies, from University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Shabani obtained his Juris Doctor degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 2009 and has been an active member of the California State Bar since 2009. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Shabani also obtained a Certificate of Advocacy from McGeorge School of Law. Mr. Shabani is also admitted to practice in California district courts in and for the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California.

While in Law School, Mr. Shabani was the recipient of Dean’s Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, Tracy G. Helms Memorial Scholarship, and B. Abbot Goldberg Memorial Scholarship, as well as the Honor’s at Entrance Scholarship. Additionally, Mr. Shabani was an editor and author for the California Initiative Review. Furthermore, Mr. Shabani was a Teacher’s Assistant and Workshop Leader in his law school’s Trial and Appellate Advocacy Program, where he helped students improve their legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
